History

Misa's childhood was spent mainly in Japan with her father, mother, and older sister. Her father was a very successful muggle businessman who enjoyed spoiling his little princess, while her mother was from Britain, and part of a Pureblood family. However, since she herself was a Squib, she never told her husband and assumed her daughters would not inherit any magical traits. As it would turn out, this was only true for her eldest daughter. Misa's parents would never know this, however, as they were murdered in a botched robbery when she was only seven. She and her sister were taken in by their mother's sister in England, who was more than thrilled when Misa's powers became apparent two years later. When the invitation to Hogwarts came two years after that, Misa was given a white cat as a present, whom she named Rem.

Misa is cheerful and optimistic, and doesn't think too much about her parents' deaths. She does have a lot of natural talent when it comes to magic, but she doesn't really apply herself enough to be particularly skilled at anything. Her best classes are Potions and Herbology, and she is always looking for ways to make her more attractive. She is very popular with the boys, and exploits their affections for her without being cruel. A romantic, she dreams of the day her storybook prince will arrive and sweep her off her feet.

Since she grew up in Japan, a lot of the words and habits have been ingrained in her. She has tried very hard to learn English and speak in first person, but every now and then she'll slip up. Often when she is thinking about Japan or her family, she'll revert to speaking in third person or use honorifics. She is rarely aware when she does this, and is always embarrassed when other people point it out.

Fun Facts

+ With her aunt and sister, Misa has a family of three.

+ She likes alcohol. A lot. Somehow, though, she manages to always stop drinking before she does anything stupid.

+ Her favorite food is the strawberry. Chocolate coated strawberries are the only sweets that she can't resist.

+ After her parents' death, Misa made up imaginary friends to keep herself company. Rem was named after one of them- the others were Shidoh, Jealous, and Ryuk.

+ She hates being alone, but she hates admitting it even more.

~Relationships~

Professor Bainbridge- The Ancient Runes teacher; Misa heard his angsty singing on Musical Days and cheered him up. Since she doesn't take his class, she has a bit of a hard time thinking of him as a teacher, and instead treats him like her other friends. He has given her some very helpful advice when she needed it, and came to visit her over the summer. Although she does not know quite how to articulate it, she sees him as a father figure in many ways.

Professor Yukimi- The Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher (for Ravenclaw and Slytherin); Yoite's older brother figure, who Misa met when she visited Yoite. When he took a teaching job at Hogwarts he denied ever meeting Misa, not really convincing her. She finally saw him in person again, and has more or less figured out his real reason for teaching; getting the dirt of the Dark Wizard attack for the Daily Prophet. Although at first she did not trust or like Yukimi at all, Yoite made her promise not to get him in trouble. She still kept in close contact with him to make sure he wasn't going to do anything bad, and because teasing him was just too much fun. He eventually developed feelings for her, but due to her devotion for Yoite and the fact that he's ten years older than her, she refused to admit that she even liked him. However, thanks to a personality-swap event, he actually said he loves her... making him the first person to ever do so. He is quite popular with girls, and her jealousy and fear that he'll choose someone else has forced her to admit that she returns his feelings. Although they finally started dating shortly after Halloween, they were forced to break up by Alita. After the Death Eater attack, they rekindled their relationship, their feelings not having changed at all by the forced seperation. ~~But does he have to keep flirting with everyone?!~~

Gai- The Flying teacher; the first to comment on Misa's journal, she thinks of him as a friend who's easy to have fun with. She also trusts him more than most, and has an easy time talking to him.

Maron- The Defense Against the Dark Arts TA; Yukimi's up-beat assistant. Although Misa is certain that Maron likes him, the fact that she seems uninterested in pursuing him keeps her from being too jealous. Well, sometimes. They do spend an awful lot of time together at work, after all. However, thanks to several events (such as the de-aging and a certain conversation Maron had with Ryuk), Misa has grown to trust and like her.

Alita- The school nurse; Misa does not like her. At all. The fact that Alita's cute, closer to Yukimi's age, and less emotional makes Misa worried that he'll wind up liking her instead. That's certainly Alita's intent, with all her flirting. Actually, it is her continual flirting with Yukimi that forced Misa admit just how much she likes him. Most recently, Alita has blackmailed Yukimi into breaking up with Misa, who is discovering for the first time what murderous intent feels like.

Tohru Honda- 7th year Hufflepuff; a super sweet upperclassman who Misa admires for her patience and kindness. Ever since a 'de-aging' event, Misa's gotten into the habit of calling her 'Tohru-nee' ('Big Sister Tohru').

Howl- (GRADUATED) 7th year Ravenclaw; a charming older student, Misa finds him a lot like the princes she's fantasized of. But since he's graduating this year, she has decided not to pursue him (that... and she thinks that Sophie likes him).

Sengoku- 7th year Hufflepuff; a slightly perverted upperclassman, Misa likes Sengoku. She thinks he's fun and a good person, and being Irish he is a very good provider of liquor. They are the President and Vice-President of the Super Awesome Hufflepuff Shake/Hot Chocolate Club!

Yoite- 6th year Ravenclaw; a severely anti-social and depressed classmate. Misa started talking to him over the journals in the summer, recognizing and understanding how lonely he seemed. He's the first boy to talk to her without flirting, and appears honestly interested in how she thinks. As a result, no matter how hard he tries to push her away, she refuses to leave him alone. She eventually discovered the secret he's been keeping the past seven years- he's very slowly dying. Instead of driving her away, however, the revelation has only caused Misa's feelings for him to grow. Although he does not return her love, he is still the most important person to her, and she would do anything for him. She feels guilty about this, since she's started dating Yukimi, but has continued spending time with him as a friend.

Fuji Syusuke- 6th year Ravenclaw; a very charming and polite classmate, as well as her 'Fuji-nii'. The two of them went on a blind date over the summer, and since then the two have developed a good sibling-like relationship. He found out about her feelings for both Yoite and Yukimi when Misa's cat Ryuk was able to talk for a few days, and is currently the only uninvolved person she's actually talked to about them.

Femio- 6th year Gryffindor; a self-proclaimed prince who Misa finds amusing, but well-intentioned. Apparently, she is one of the very few who do.

Ahiru- 6th year Hufflepuff; a sweet, hard-working roommate of Misa's. They're really quite a lot alike, something that Misa's only started to notice. Secretly, she envies Ahiru's relationship with Fakir a great deal.

Junpei Iori- 5th Year Hufflepuff; a younger Housemate who Misa's recently started to get to know better. Since his best friend, Minato, is the object of Yoite's affections, the pair has bonded over their combined jealousy. They keep trying to come up with ways to get the two to stop spending so much time with each other... or at least learn to share.

Minato Arisato- 5th Year Hufflepuff; yet another Housemate, and a fellow prefect. The two are on good terms, despite the fact that Yoite likes him instead of Misa. Since Minato genuinely makes Yoite happy, she does her best to swallow her jealousy and hurt and tries to keep the things running smooth between the two of them. During a personality switch event, they also took part in evil flirting and almost-makeouts, which the two of them refuse to talk about.

Seimei Aoyagi- 5th Year Slytherin; a younger student. Misa finds his devotion to his little brother unbelievably sweet, and originally did not regard him as anything else. However, since Yoite warned her about how dangerous he could be, she's become more careful around her. Though they still talk from time to time, she's subtley been keeping her distance.

Katara- 5th year Hufflepuff; another younger Housemate, who's love life is something Misa finds fascinating. She sometimes gives her advice on how to deal with boys and relationships.

Amu Hinamori- 1st year Gryffindor; Amu-chan! Misa thinks this little girl is adorable, despite her 'cool and spicy' exterior. Then again, Misa also thinks that Professor Bainbridge's skull is 'neat'.
